Whenever you a troubleshooting a connection issue, especially when you connect to a MySQL database, I'd suggest changing/updating the password in cPanel. One thing to consider-- if you are running a VPS or Dedicated server, please be sure you have added your IP address, or the IP address of the database connection, to the firewall.

If you're still running in to trouble, you will need to check your error logs. That will help you find out the exact cause of the failed MySQL connection so that you can fix it. If you are having trouble checking your logs, please get in touch with our 24/7 Technical Support team so they can assist you in reviewing the error logs!

I have reset the password several times same results.  The first thing I did.

In that case, please focus on the error logs. Having the specific error code for the failed login attempt will let us narrow down the problem and figure out what is going on. Our Support Team can SSH in and grab the logs for you if you're having trouble finding the relevant error message.
